The Amrita School of Medicine under the Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham, a deemed university, has invited applications for the MBBS course commencing next year. There will be a Common Entrance Test for admission to the course. The total number of seats for the course is 100 and the duration of the course is four and a half years plus one year compulsory rotating internship. The curriculum is as approved by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (University) and is in line with the directives of the Medical Council of India.
ELIGIBILITY: The applicant should be minimum 17 years of age and maximum 23 years on or before 31st December 2010. The applicant should have passed 12th standard in the first attempt and with a minimum of marks 60% in English and 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together, from any State Higher Secondary Board or equivalent. NRI's and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) who qualify from foreign universities will have to produce an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Those who appear for the qualifying examination in March/ April 2010 can also apply.
COMMON ENTRANCE TEST: Date of Entrance Examination is May 23, 2010 and the Time of Examination is Morning and the Cost of Application Rs. 1250/-. The Exam Centers are New Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Kozhikode, Kochi, Amritapuri(Kollam), Thiruvananthapuram.
PROSPECTUS & APPLICATION FORMS: The Prospectus and Application forms will be available from the branches of The Dhanalakshmi Bank and South Indian Bank from March 2010.
