The Maharashtra Government has put on hold the process for admissions to junior college following a High Court order striking down its 'best of five' system.
"We have put on hold the admission process for junior colleges (Std XI) for two days as we need time to study the judgement," said Balasaheb Thorat, Education Minister.
The Bombay High Court today struck down the system whereby marks obtained in five subjects out of total six were to be counted in SSC board's Std 10th mark list, leaving out the subject with lowest marks.
The minister said decision on appealing in supreme court and whether to issue or not revised marksheets would also be taken only after they go through the judgement in details.
