Over hundred General seats are slotted for the second allotment of the BTech of the Cochin University of Science and Technogy (Cusat), which is scheduled for July 31, Saturday. After the first allotment there were only 32 vacant General Merit seats.
As on July 26, over hundred students have been listed for the second allotment in the General seats, which means nearly 70 more vacancies were created after the first allotment with as many number of students deserting Cusat after joining various courses in the first allotment.
These students may have opted for the KEAM allotments which fell during the past one and a half months or to BTech and other courses in Kerala itself or other states. The last rank Cusat has listed for General Merit seat for Second Counselling as on July 26 is 6868. This is for Information Technology branch at the Pulinkunnu Campus.
Those below this rank will be considered in the spot admission to be conducted later if vacancies arise in different branches. This is possible if allotted students do not turn up for the second counselling or more already joined students desert Cusat for "greener pastures".
