With class XII results declaration of all regions are complete today Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will begin its counselling session from May 21-June 4. This is the second phase of the Board's counselling. The results of Chennai, Ajmer and Panchkula regions were declared on Wednesday and that of the remaining regions are announced today morning.
CBSE spokesperson Rama Sharma today said the sessions would provide psychological help to students to cope with post-result situations successfully. Besides, for the first time this year, CBSE has introduced a Centralised Access System similar to that of a call centre. Students can call on the toll free number 1800 11 7002 from any part of the country and get answers for general queries or connect with counsellors.
As many as 40 principals, trained counsellors from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools, psychologists and social scientists will be available on the telephonic helpline from 0800 hrs till midnight, Sharma added.
Out of these 37 participants are located in Delhi, Noida, Chandigarh, Meerut, Jaipur, Faridabad, Bhubaneswar, Vishakhapatnam, Jamnagar, Jabalpur, Coimbatore, Bhopal, Nagpur, Bangalore, Guwahati, Kerala, Ludhiana, Bhilai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Hosur and Pune. There are three overseas centres in Dubai, Doha-Qatar and Kuwait.
Meanwhile, an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) mode has also been arranged for counselling of students. This service will be available for subscribers of BSNL (landline and mobile, except Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra) on 1250102, Airtel (landline) on 1250102 and Reliance on 55500102.
Students and parents can also log on to the CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in and interact with the chairperson on exam and result-related issues. The Director (Academic) and Controller of Examinations, CBSE can also be contacted for On-line counselling at diracad.cbse@yahoo.co.in and mcsharma2007@rediffmail.com respectively. Techniques to cope with post-result anxiety will also be provided at the website by accessing the icon 'Helpline.'
