The Rangaraya Government Medical College has been sanctioned 32 additional seats in various post-graduate courses from this academic year, according to Dr R Prathap, Principal and Additional Director.
He told newspersons here today that the total number of seats in the Post-Graduate courses in the college had gone up to 112 from the existing 80 seats.
Dr Prathap said proposals were submitted to the Medical Council of India (MCI) for sanction of three more seats - one each in Anaesthesia, Gynaecology and Ophthalmology.
Vice-Principal Dr Satya Dev said all the class rooms were being computerised at a cost of Rs 10 lakh for improving the teaching methodologies using audio-visual aids.
Of the 32 additional seats sanctioned, six were in M D General Medicine, three each in M D Pediatrics and M S Orthopaedics, two each in M D Biochemistry, M D Microbiology, M D Pathology, M D Forensic Medicine, M D Community Medicine, M D Anaesthesia, M S Ophthalmology, M S ENT, M S Obstrestics and Gynaecology and one each in M D Pharmacology and M D Pulmonary Medicine.
