A two-day seminar aimed at creating awareness among children with regard to space science and its application in day to day life began at the Space Application Centre (SAC) here.
The seminar organised by SAC saw participation of students from over 11 public and municipal schools of the city, chairman of the organising committee and Controller SCA, Dr Namita Priyadarshee said.
"The scientist and engineers from SAC would be presenting 30 papers during the two days on various aspects of space, its history, application and progress," she added.
Various topics on which the scientist talked about include India's space journey, Chandrayaan, tele-education and telemedicine, use of communication technology for social development and education.
Additional director general of police S K Sinha was the chief guest for the inaugural session which was chaired by director Development and Educational Communication Unit (DECU) DR K S Dasgupta and attended by senior scientist Kiran Kumar.
