The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK), today signed an MoU with the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Limited for providing ''TCS-Sangam'' programme to the University students.
Under this initiative, the faculty and students would be benefited with TCS's academic interface programme and have better research collaboration exploring the areas of cooperation between JNTUK and the TCS.
JNTUK Registrar Prof V Ravindra and TCS Regional Head V Rajanna signed the MOU.
JNTUK Vice-Chancellor Prof Allam Apparao told reporters that under the MoU, the University would focus on exploring the possibilities of supporting TCS in its learning, hiring and research requirements based on mutual convenience and academic interface programmes for empowering the students with cutting edge technology.
He claimed that the IT sector was now recovering from the recent worldwide recession and the students of IT would have a lot of employment avenues.
V Rajanna said in India, at present 2.5 million people were directly employed in the IT sector of whom 30 per cent was women.
