The Centre would consider setting up an Indian Institute of Technology here to cater to the needs of the students in the region, Union Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal today said.
Responding to a demand on the subject by the Malabar Chamber of Commerce here, he said the MCC should ensure acquiring about 500 acre of land for the purpose.
He said the government would also consider sanctioning one more Kendriya Vidyala in addition to the existing two in the district soon.
Sibal said the Centre would also consider waiving the need for a No Objection Certificate from the State Governments concerned for starting new CBSE Schools as demanded by the trade body.
