Additional CTET application opportunity

The Central Board of Secondary Education has reopened the online application portal for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test.

The additional window is available from August 25 to September 1, 2026 for eligible candidates who could not use the earlier application period.

The original application window ran from May 11 to June 10, 2026.

Who should apply

The reopened facility is intended for otherwise eligible candidates who did not successfully submit an application during the earlier window.

CBSE has clearly stated that candidates who have already completed and submitted their CTET applications do not need to apply again.

Applicants should check the CTET information bulletin and the eligibility rules applicable to the paper and teaching level they intend to select. The reopening notice does not replace the detailed bulletin.

Revised examination date awaited

CBSE has not announced a revised examination date in this notice. It states that the revised date for the 22nd CTET edition will be announced after the application portal closes.

Candidates should therefore avoid relying on dates circulated by unofficial websites or social-media accounts.

Application precautions

New applicants should use the official CTET portal, fill in personal and academic details exactly as supported by their documents and verify the selected paper, examination city preferences and category before final submission.

They should upload the required photograph and signature in the prescribed format, pay the applicable examination fee and download the confirmation page.

An application should not be considered complete merely because registration credentials were generated. Candidates should verify that payment and final submission have been successfully recorded.

What students should do now

Eligible candidates who missed the earlier window should complete and submit their application by September 1, 2026. Existing applicants should not register again and should instead monitor the official CBSE and CTET websites for the revised examination date.
