All India Competitive Written Test for MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm./B.Pharm(Ay.) in Banaras Hindu University

The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India Competitive Written Test for admission to MBBS course (63 seats) in TWO stages: PMT-2009 SCREENING and PMT-2009 MAIN, and to BDS (28 seats)/BAMS (57 seats) / B. Pharm. (28 seats) and B.Pharm.(Ay.) (Paid seats - 30) courses in ONE stage: PMT-2009 Screening. PMT-2009 SCREENING shall be held on Wednesday, the 6th May 2009 at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad Centres, to screen candidates for eligibility to take PMT-2009 MAIN examination for MBBS course which will be held on Sunday, the 14th June 2009 at Varanasi Centre only. For BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm./B.Pharm(Ay.) courses, candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the PMT-2009 SCREENING.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Passed Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together; (i) For MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm.(Ay.) – A minimum of 50% for general and 40% aggregate marks for OBC/SC/ST candidates; (ii) For B.Pharm. – A minimum of 60% marks for general & OBC and 55% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.

  • Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December, 2009 (Candidates born after 1st January, 1993 and on or before 31st December, 1984 need not apply).

  • BDS and B.Pharm(28 seats each):

  • Foreign National – 3
  • OBC – 6
  • SC – 8 and ST – 4

  • B.Pharm(Ay.)(Paid seats, 30):
  • General – 15
  • OBC – 8
  • SC – 5 and ST – 2

  • Three percent seats are reserved for Physically challenged candidates in all the categories of the above courses.
